¿How does Xala with Heart contribute to José María Morelos and Higuera Blanca communities?
We understand social transformation as a journey, not a destiny is not a destiny.
We have full conviction that in order to achieve social transformation, it is essential to facilitate individual transformation. Our model is based on a program that ensures a continuous process of personal growth and change.
Our mission is to improve the life quality of our two communities, José María Morelos and Higuera Blanca, through our model of social transformation which stands in three pillars: Economic resilience, health and lifestyle, and education and culture.
¿What are Xala with Heart´s axes of intervention in the communities?
Economic Resilience: Provide the tools to develop local entrepreneurship and regional economic solutions to increase their personal, family, and community income, through a model whose financial activities are driven by values of solidarity.
· Health & Lifestyle: Group transformational program for individuals to discover their true potential to achieve their goals.
· Education & Culture: Improve quality education and enhance Mexican rural culture through co-investing with the community in improving infrastructure, education, and sports projects, and co-creating cultural events.
¿What are José María Morelos and Higuera Blanca communities figures?
José María Morelos and Higuera Blanca have 3,400+ inhabitants.
José María Morelos was founded 60 years ago by families from different areas of the country whose primordial economic source on its foundation were: agriculture, cattle breeding, fisherman and salt mine people.
These communities represent a micro cosmos of Mexican realty in its social tissue cracks and yearns.
They are considered to fall under the parameters of multidimensional poverty, by The Mexican Institute of Social Development and Statistics:
• Income under $300 USD monthly per family of 4.
• 27% of the total population have not attended or completed elementary school.
• Communities have no access to Social Security.
¿Who is Xala with Heart´s team?
Xala with Heart´s team are experienced individuals in National and International non profit structures, in addition to rural communities neighboring luxury developments in Mexico. We are five people, out of which four are from the local communities.
¿What are Xala with Heart´s main allies?
OMNICRECE
Bringing over 30 years of experience, Omincrece has been a guiding force in personal growth across 18 countries, positively impacting over 200,000 individuals.
In alliance with Xala with Heart, Omincrece offers transformative programs, including Descúbrete for youth and group leadership development processes for local leaders and entrepreneurs.
IBERO Puebla
Partnering with the prestigious University IBERO Puebla, established for over 75 years, Xala With Heart gains access to outstanding educational support.
IDIT (Institute for Design and Technology Innovation) IBERO Puebla has been instrumental in nurturing start-ups, benefiting 735 entrepreneurs in the first semester of 2023.
In alliance with Xala with Heart, in 2023, we created the first entrepreneur ecosystem of local people, strengthening our commitment to holistic community development.
Universidad de Guadalajara, UdeG
CUC, Puerto Vallarta
It is a public University located in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It is the second oldest University in Mexico.
Their Campus Puerto Vallarta, in alliance with Xala with Heart have created the first Regenerative Tourism certification, given to local fisherman, salt makers and individuals from our benefited communities.
¿How does Xala with Heart involve the communities in their programs?
All our programs have a co-investment approach, where individuals put at the service of their communities their time, knowledge and expertise, in addition to having local committees per program and co-creating together all the local events.
